Bernie L. Murray

Bernie L Murray, 65, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 followed by a meal at Graceland University, 1401 West Truman Rd, Independence, MO  64050. First and foremost he was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When he wasn’t in the word he was with his family watching Chiefs games, and the Royals win a world series, Go Royals! When his schedule allowed he attended soccer, baseball and basketball games played by his grand kids. He was devoted to his family, patient and kind to everyone with a sense of humor that was one of a kind.  He was a slow moving man many times to our irritation but always to the benefit of others. He could repair anything that needed fixed even if that meant he had to buy a new tool because he couldn’t find the one he bought last week. He loved to discuss the Bible and politics and was an incredible family man.

Bernie is preceded in death by his father, Berna D. Murray. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Terry Murray of the home; son, Brent (Ana Lucia) Murray of Independence, MO; 2 daughters, Tiffany (Andy) Crowther of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Britney (Joel) Fortner of Independence, MO; 4 grandchildren, Breckyn, Karsyn, Paxsen and Harper; mother, Virginia Murray of Richmond, MO; 3 sisters, Sharon (Denny) Gaskins of North Carolina, Diane (Dave) Crawford of Independence, MO, and Carol (Ross) Benson of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
