Betty Jean Gilbert, 87, of Bates City, MO passed away Sunday January 12, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove 400 E. 14th St. Oak Grove, MO 64075. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Betty was born July 3, 1926 in Blue Springs, MO to Clyde & Frances (Myers) Cole.
Betty married Marion Gilbert in 1953. She was a homemaker.
Betty was preceded in death by 2 sons: Ray Squires in 2011, Willie Gilbert in 2005; 1 daughter: Jeanie Georgieff in 2013.
Betty is survived by her husband Marion L Gilbert of the home; 4 sons: Richard Squires (Donna) of Blue Springs, MO, Eddie Gilbert (Carolyn) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Junior Gilbert of Bates City, MO, Steve Gilbert (Becky) of Topeka, KS.; 4 daughters: Lorrie Andrews of Gravois Mills, MO, Kathy Gilbert of Versailles, MO, Linda Dendish of Oak Grove, MO, Dink Foster (Oscar) of Bates City, MO.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
