Bill W. Austin, 95, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025.

Bill wore many hats over his long life — athlete, soldier, coach, teacher, politician, entrepreneur, salesman, husband, father, and friend.

Bill is survived by Nyla Hoeppner, his love and life partner of more than 55 years, his four children, Jessica Brookman, Jim Austin (Helen), John Austin, and Warren Austin (MaryBeth), six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Bill lived a long and active life and, ever the coach and athlete at heart, he left it all on the field.
