Charlotte L. Connell

Charlotte L Connell, 79, went home with Jesus peacefully on January 19th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Dora, Missouri on January 10th, 1947. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday 22, 2026 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, Missouri; burial following in New Salem Cemetery, Independence, Missouri.  The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  

Charlotte was a dedicated Hearing Instrument Specialist and started her own business Hearing Express Laboratory in 1992. Charlotte was the first woman to graduate from the Electronic Institute in Kansas City, MO. She served on the board for the State of Missouri Hearing Instrument Specialist. She will be remembered for her devotion to the Lord and her commitment to Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Independence, MO.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Richard D Connell; Parents: Orville, and Lorene Grisham. Brothers: Billy Joe, and Lexie Grisham. 

Charlotte is survived by her two daughters: Rosa Connell of Independence, MO, and Timberley Hidalgo of Kansas City, KS; Grandchildren: Josh Anderson, Zachary Connell, and Tanner Wright; Great-Grandchildren: Taylor Anderson, Brayden Connell, Sylas Wright, Mason Connell, Nixon Anderson, Amelia Anderson, and Carson Anderson; Sisters: Bonnie (Daryl) Wages, Donna Hensley, and Rosie (Bruce) Dundas; Brother Robert (Dorothy) Grisham. Along with several nieces and nephews; And a Beloved Friend: Linda Richards.
