David C. Basham

David C. Basham, 68, of Grain Valley, MO passed peacefully on July 31, 2022. His Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 5-7pm with service following at 7-7:30pm at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, MO. David was born August 14, 1953 in Independence, MO to Alberta and David Basham. He is 1 of 6 children. Later his mother remarried and had 2 more children. David was a boy scout when he was a young boy and loved the outdoors. He loved music and became a drummer in his own band in high school that played The Beatles’ songs. David and his dad had a lawn service called Basham and Son Lawn Service. He was a dedicated hard worker as a machine operator for St. Regis Paper Company for almost 40 years. David enjoyed fishing, football, sci-fi and most importantly, his family. He married in 1972 to Teresa Villalobos and had 2 daughters, Christina (Scott) Roberts of Grain Valley, MO and Melissa (Michael) Fitkin of Greenwood, MO. He later remarried to Amy Johnson in 1987 and they had 4 sons, David Johnson, Joshua Basham, Christopher Basham and Joseph Basham of Independence, MO.

David is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; son: David Johnson; sister: Patty Fisher and half-brother: Cliff Parton.

He is survived by his children: Christina (Scott) Roberts, Melissa (Michael) Fitkin, Joshua Basham, Christopher Basham, and Joseph Basham; grandchildren: Makayla Roberts, Aiden Roberts, Spencer Cintron, Dru Cintron, David Smith, Michael Fitkin, and William Fitkin; siblings: Gerry Smith, Shirley (Don) Shahan, Judy Dameron, Ken Basham, and Mike (Krista) Parton. He has many nieces and nephews as well.
