David L. Chapman

David “Papa” Leroy Chapman, 74, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The family will be having a celebration of life in the spring at Papa’s barn at a date to be announced later. 

David was born on June 2,1951 to Harold C. Chapman and Mary R. (Thomas) Chapman. David hauled trash for 21 years and then owned Chapmans Septic Service for close to 30 years. He also worked worked for many farmers around the area. The last several years you could find him and Max out doing  chores and living their best lives.

David was very involved in the Oak Grove Saddle Club and Jackson County 4-H leader for many years. 

David was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Thomas Chapman.

David leaves behind his wife Sharon Kay (Crowder) Chapman (or Hunny by all that knew them); 2 brothers, Randy Chapman, Texas; Mark Chapman (Dallas), Bates City, MO; his daughter Kim Lunceford (Rick) of Oak Grove, MO; his son David Chapman II of Oak Grove, MO; grandsons, Casey Lunceford (Caitlin) and Cody Lunceford (Natalie); 5 great-grandchildren; Gracie, Fallon, Brilynn, Laramie and Lawless; sister in-law Becky Chapman; 3 nieces, Tara, Amy, Lisa. Sharon Kay’s children, Diana Little (Jack), Steven Coakley; grandchildren, Chris Boldizs (Elise), Amber Holsteen (Nathan), Bethany Little, Jordan Boldizs;  great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Peightyn, Ayden, Keely; and Keeton. He had MANY others that he considered his children and who considered him their Papa.
