Edward B. Crossland

July 24, 1927 – December 16, 2023

Edward B. Crossland, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the age of 96. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley.

Edward was born on July 24, 1927, the youngest of 10 children, to E.B. and Ida O. Crossland.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jo Crossland, and great-granddaughter Kelsey Crossland.

Survivors include his son Roy J Crossland and his wife Janet; daughter Carol June Hodges and her husband Gary; two grandchildren: Melissa Tye and her husband David; and Jeffrey Crossland; and four great-granddaughters: Makayla and Kyleigh Tye; Lucia and Lena Crossland.

Edward served in the U. S. Navy on aircraft carrier USS Antietam CV36 from 1945-46. Edward was a Master Electrician and worked for Commercial Electric for 40 years. He had many hobbies; his favorites included boating and fishing on Table Rock Lake and hunting in SW Missouri. He was a follower of Jesus Christ, who was saved and baptized in 1964. He was always ready to help family and friends with their projects.
