Frances L. Mathews

Frances Laverne Mathews, 83, of Independence, MO, passed away June 14, 2015.  Services will be at New Salem Funeral Home.  Visitation is Wednesday, June 17, from 6-8pm.  Funeral is Thursday, June 18 at 1:00 pm.  Burial in Clark Family Cemetery.

Frances was born June 16, 1931 in Richmond, MO, to Lee and Leota (Montonya) Clark.  She belonged to Atherton United Methodist Church.  Frances was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the Village Cloggers and Folk dancers, and a volunteer at Burr Oak Nature Center.

Frances was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Mullnix and Darold Mathews and a daughter, Gloria Faye Jenkins in 2006.

She is survived by a son, David Mullnix (Kim) of Independence, MO; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Jenkins (Ginger), Shauna Clark (Ray), Steven Mullnix, and Chris Mullnix, all of Independence, and several great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation and mail to Burr Oak Woods, 1401 NW Park Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015.
