Gary E. Snyder

Gary Eugene Snyder, Sr., 85 of Grain Valley passed away on March 5, 2023. He was born on January 23, 1938 to LaVerna and James Snyder in Sioux City, IA.

Gary, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Danette; Son, Gary Jr. (Spouse: Jeanetta); granddaughters, Troi (Spouse: Nate) Hackett; Samantha Jo (Spouse: Brian) Adkins; grandson, Jackson; great- grandsons, Louis and Amos Adkins; great -granddaughter, Mary Kate Hackett. Gary was preceded in death by his mother LaVerna; Brother Robert and his father James; he has one surviving brother Ronald.

After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School, Mt. Vernon, MO; Gary joined the Air Force to serve his country, which took him to domestic and international locations. Upon leaving the Military, Gary went into the Trucking / Transportation industry until he retired.

Gary was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Grain Valley.

Services will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, MO. A remembrance service will be held at a later date.
