James Jones Jr.

James Jones Jr, 69, of Independence, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 in his home in the company of his loving family. 

Jimmy always worked hard to provide for his family. He retired from Saia Freight. He really enjoyed conversations while sitting outside in his chair, cooking with his family, and sharing his famous pies. He was very knowledgeable and handy. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother, and Uncle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Jones Sr & Tommie Jones. 

Survived by wife of nearly 51 years, Janice Jones, son Shawn (Cecilia) Jones of Shawnee, KS. Daughter Tammy (Gary) Smith of Buckner, MO. Daughter Angela (Jason) Gumminger of Independence MO and 7 grandchildren that he absolutely loved and adored, one sister Susan (Tom) Mynear, 3 brothers, Bill, Dennis, and Tom (Michelle) Jones.
