James W. Lankford

James Wayne Lankford, 73, of Independence, MO passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 1-2p.m. Monday July 19, 2021 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial at New Salem Cemetery.

James was born November 30, 1947 in Sweet Water, TN to James H & Lilly M. (Free) Lankford. James could light up any room he walked into, had the best sense of humor and will be greatly missed. He kept his faith strong and took comfort in knowing he would be walking aside his Father.

James was preceded in death by his parents: James & Lilly Lankford.

James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna; his sons: James and John; grandchildren: Brittanie, Cheyenne, Shania, Lyric, Alaina and 5 great-grandchildren.
