
Janice G. Hazen
Janice G. Hazen, 86, of Holden, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO; inurnment following in Bates City Cemetery, Bates City, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Johnson County Missouri Home Health.
Janice was born November 4, 1929, near Erie, Kansas on the George family farm, the daughter of Fred and Edith (Heady) George. She married Robert Lincoln Hazen on June 21, 1947, in Holyrood, Kansas. Janice was a homemaker and worked at AT&T where she retired in 1989. She enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Janice was a loving and caring person, and always had a smile on her face. She gave 100% in everything she did and what she set her mind to, always with her smile. Her greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great great-grandchildren. Janice will be remembered for being witty, compassionate, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred & Edith George; and nine siblings: Lucille, Louise, Hollis, Freeda, Bill, Dortha, Leon, twin sister Janette, and Fred Jr.; a son, David Paul; and a great-grandson, Lincoln Alexander.
Those who remain to mourn her include her husband of 68 years, Robert Lincoln “Bobby” Hazen; son, Robert “Ed” Hazen and wife, Shirley of Raymore, MO; son, Randall Lynn Hazen and wife, Connie of Bates City, MO; daughter, Jana Eison and husband Larry of Lincoln, MO; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
