Jasper W. Cogdill
Jasper Walter Cogdill, 78, of Grain Valley, Missouri, formerly of Odessa, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23rd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Jasper was born on July 30, 1940 in California, MO, son of Walter and Opal (Barnes) Cogdill. He was a sheet metal worker for Local Union #2 and a proud US Marine. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Betty and liked going to Las Vegas even though he never gambled. He is preceded in death by his parents; and 1st wife, Sharon D. (See) Curl in 2007.
Jasper is survived by his wife, Betty (Barnett) McKinstry of the home; son, Tony (Chae) Cogdill of Odessa; daughter, Vicki (Tim) Eblen of North Kansas City, MO; step-son, Joe (Debra) McKinstry of Port Orange, FL; step-daughter, Lou Ann McKinstry of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Luella Burge of Odessa.
