Jefferson Davis

Jefferson “Brick” Davis, 51, of Kansas City, Missouri, died Monday, July 10, 2023. A brief graveside committal of Brick’s ashes will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 16, at Memorial Park Cemetery. A grave marker memorializing both Brick and his Mom, Janet B. Davis, will be installed. Note: there will be no formal service, and the site is on a steep hill. Please wear Chiefs gear and walking shoes. Memorial Park is located at 3223 N 18th St, Kansas City, Kansas.

Brick was born May 23, 1972, to William Joseph “Bill” Davis and Janet B. Davis (Larson). He grew up in the Raytown, Missouri, area where he built life-long friendships with neighborhood kids and excelled in a wide variety of Raytown Little League sports. He was a scrappy little catcher behind home plate and also participated in high school wrestling. Brick especially enjoyed snow skiing and spending time with his Colorado cousins and friends in the great outdoors, rafting, canoeing, golfing, camping, and talking smack about the Chiefs’ next opponent — especially the Denver Broncos. Above all, Brick had a huge heart. He was generous, funny and loved by many.

Brick was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his sister, Janelle Davis (Jim Mosby) and his Colorado cousins Allan Chado, Rob Chado and Tegner Nickelson.

Brick ‘s was a death of despair following decades of addiction to alcohol and other substances. Our family thanks all who supported him.
