John Hawkins Jr.

John Hawkins Jr., 90, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. Visitation will be held 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, Missouri. A Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00 p.m.

John was born April 9, 1932 in Booneville, Missouri. He was honored with a Purple Heart while proudly serving his country. John served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved being around people, John was a real people person. He enjoyed fishing off the bank, patiently waiting for a bite. John never missed drinking coffee every morning with his buddies. One of his favorite places to eat was Cracker Barrel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife Virginia.

John is survived in death by a host of family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
