Joseph D. Strahan, Jr., 81, of Bates City, MO passed away at his home March 31, 2014.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial in Bates City Cemetery.
Joseph was born September 30, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph D. & Edna A. (Snow) Strahan. Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Joseph was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the 1329 Carpenters Union. He enjoyed racing cars, farming, gardening, hunting, fishing and helped raising his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and throwing shoes at his children.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife: Nancy Strahan; son: Don Strahan; parents: Joe Sr. & Edna Strahan; brother: Robert Strahan.
Joseph is survived by his children: Ronald Strahan, David Strahan, Connie (Ken) Smith, Bonnie Bontz, Jodie (Lloyd) McIntyre; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
