Judith S. Butts

Judith “Judy” Scott Butts, 75, of Independence, MO, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at her home.  Cremation.  A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.

Judith was born on February 16, 1947, in Independence, MO, the daughter of John Henry Scott Sr. and Bessie (Jarrett) Scott.  She married Richard L. Butts on December 17, 1966.  Judith and Richard were married for 35 years.  They loved to take their boat out on the lake and go fishing.  She loved reading, watching movies, and playing games on the computer.   Judith enjoyed researching family genealogy and traveling.  She was a nurse for many years at Skaggs Hospital in Branson, MO, where she retired in 2009. 

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, her sister Ruby Grayum, her brother John H. Scott Jr., her sister Bettie Jean Larson, and her brother James “Russell” Scott.   Her survivors include her sister Sharon Scott, many nieces and nephews, and their families.
