Linda S. Staller

Linda Sue (Catherell) Staller, 75 Grain Valley, MO passed away February 23, 2023 of congestive heart failure and lymphoma cancer. 

Linda was born July 5, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to parents Lester J. and Nona Catherell. 

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Willis Staller, sister Pat Modin (Tom), brother Lester Catherell (Linda), daughter Christine Allison (Kelly), son Todd Staller (Jessica) and 3 grandchildren: Brianna Proctor, Riley Staller and Addison Staller. Linda was beloved by many nephews and nieces who were most helpful during her illness.

Linda was raised in the small community of Houston Lake, MO where she enjoyed swimming, fishing, sailing and friends. She graduated from Park Hill H.S. in 1965 and began working at Macy’s downtown and H.O. Peet Stock Brokerage. She married Willis Staller in 1970 and began working various jobs that enabled her to be near and available to her family. Linda taught preschool at Timothy Lutheran Church and Presbyterian Chapel Hill. When her children entered elementary school, she worked for the Mid-Continent Public Library in Buckner and Grain Valley. Linda also held secretarial positions at Bennet Packaging, S & G Plumbing and finally Orin Motes Accounting.

Linda and Willis enjoyed retirement life in both Bella Vista, AR and Weeki Wachee, FL.  She made friends easily and was active in the Lutheran church. Linda loved walking on the beach and collecting seashells for her arts and craft projects.  She always found beauty in clouds, sunsets, butterflies and flowers.  Linda enjoyed keeping her hands busy by sewing clothing for her children, making rugs, creating patterns for quilts and other crafts projects.

A graveside remembrance ceremony will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO later this year. The Family requests any memorials be made to: Timothy Lutheran School or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
