Lucia A. Killinger

Lucia Alvarez, Killinger, 76, of Kearney, MO passed away at her home October 10, 2021.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday October 16, 2021 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial at New Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital

Lucia was born November 27, 1944 in Santa Rosa, CA to Benardo & Maria (Vargas) Alvarez. She loved to sew and made dance and band costumes, blankets and gifts for her family. Lucia also loved to cook. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling.

Lucia was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Killinger, Sr; brother: Leo Ojeda; sister: Armenia Cuellar, infant brother Daniel Alvarez.

Lucia is survived by 4 children: Robert Killinger, Sean Killinger, Nicole O’Connor (Scott), Richard Killinger, Jr all of Kearney, MO; 10 grandchildren: Derek, Coryn, Erica, Ashley, Cyle, Dylan, Cayli, Garrett, Harley, Rikki; 8 great-grandchildren: Eve, Noah, Annalise, Ziah, Cooper, Annie, Eli, Declan; 4 sisters: Grace Dilley, Ester Cabrera, Berti Erickson, Gaudelia Newhart; 1 brother: Alfonso Ojeda and several nieces and nephews.
