Lynn M. Westfall
Lynn Marie Westfall, 78, went home to her Heavenly Father, Friday, January 12, 2024 in Grandview, Missouri. Lynn was born December 6, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank (Francis) John Sakaitis and Rose Marie (Emma Rose) Sakaitis. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Baker University while working for Farmers Insurance. She worked her way up the corporate ladder to President of the Austin, Texas claims office. After retiring from Farmers, Lynn worked as a substitute teacher in the Jenks Public School District. She also enjoyed gardening, going to the casinos and spending time with her friends and family, most of all her grandchildren.
Lynn was very involved within the Catholic Church of Saint Benedict (Broken Arrow, OK) as an usher, and as a member of the Sunshine Committee and Women’s Group. With her smiling face and caring heart, she was always ready to talk, help in any way she could or just listen.
Lynn was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Gerald A. Westfall, her parents, Frank and Rose Sakaitis, and her sister Mary Shehan. She is survived by her two sons Michael Cox, (and fiancé Colleen), and Lance Croix (and wife Mary); and her grandchildren Kylie and Aubrey Cox, Aiden, Angelina, Samuel and Sophia Croix; her sisters, Karen Mann, Jackie Cheek and Joanie Simpson; and many nieces and nephews.
Lynn’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10:00 am, inside the Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, within the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (8300 Quivira, Lenexa, Kansas). In lieu of flowers, family and friends may contribute to Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Lynn Westfall.
