Margaret L. Evans

Margaret Louise (Runnels) Evans, 90, of Independence MO, passed away May 19, 2016. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the New Salem Baptist Church in Independence MO. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin MO.

Margaret was born January 25, 1926, the daughter of Cleo and Ruth (Dewitt) Runnels. She married Charles Evans February 15, 1944. Margaret held numerous jobs over the years, one of them being a department head at K-Mart for 16 years. Margaret had a strong faith in God, and her greatest pride and joy was her family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles of 41 years; 1 son, Richard Evans; and a brother Vincent Runnels. Margaret is survived by 1 son, Bobby (Arleene) Evans of Liberty MO; 3 daughters: Patricia (Fredrick) Zimmermann of Hercules, CA, Ruthann (Kenny) Bragaw of Blue Springs, MO, and Charla (Joshua) Belcher of Independence, MO; 9 grandchildren: Rob, Tina, Jessica, Aimee, Karly, Emily, Tyler, Sarah, and Grant; 8 great-grandchildren; Caleb, Colten, Tanna, Makenzie, Austin, Megan, Rob, and Quinn; 1 great great- grandchild; Addie, and one on the way, Blayke.
