Marolyn L. Brown

Marolyn Louise Brown, 82 of Grain Valley, Missouri, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 28, 2020.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1st in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO. 

Marolyn was born on September 5, 1938, in rural Atherton, MO, the daughter of James H. and Virginia H. (Waters) Moore.  She graduated from Lees Summit High School.  Marolyn married Charles Ray Brown of Grain Valley, MO on June 15, 1956.   She lived most of her life in Grain Valley, surrounded and loved by her large immediate and extended families.  Marolyn was a Christian and had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age.  Even in her declining health, most days you could find her reading her Bible and praising Jesus.  Marolyn held a variety of jobs through her life, most involved bookkeeping.  While her boys were in school, she spent many years on the “farm” as a stay at home mom, raising her sons and tending the livestock. 

Marolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie in 2011; her parents; three brothers, Robert, Kenny, and Gary; and sister, Carolyn Dupont.  

She is survived by her three sons: Carl (Linda) of Salina, KS, Clifford (Dena) of St. Charles, MO, and Clete of Grain Valley; five biological grandchildren: Travis, Jordan, Trent, Lauren, and Tyler; two adopted grandsons, Gale and Joey Harper; and a sister, Helen Harrison of Independence, MO.  She also raised two nieces, Sue and Sandy Dupont.
