Mary M. Hohenfeldt

Mary Magdalene Hohenfeldt, 89, of Blue Springs, Mo, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on April 25, 2023. Her parents found God’s truth when she was a young girl of eight. Mary made her choice to serve the Lord when she was 14 years old. She loved God’s truth and considered all the workers and friends as her beloved brothers and sisters.

Mary met her husband Rodger through the truth fellowship when they were teenagers. Even though they didn’t appear to like each other much at first, they eventually fell in love and got married when she was 20 and Rodger was 18. They started a close-knit family right away and had five children – Randy, Teresa, Lila, Marc, and Tony.

Mary thoroughly loved music, and she began playing a pump organ at the age of four. Although she never learned to read a note, playing the organ became her lifelong passion. Everyone who heard her play was in admiration of her remarkable talent.

Mary is survived by her children, Teresa Schauffler of Grandview, Mo, Lila Smith (Jack) of Blue Springs, Mo, Marc Hohenfeldt of Concordia, Mo, and Anthony Hohenfeldt (Lisa) of Santa Rosa, Mo; 19 grandchildren, over 30 great-grandchildren; Two great-great grandchildren (with another on the way).

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Melvin Rowden (1970) and Amanda Jane (Smith) Rowden (1986); husband, Rodger Lloyd Hohenfeldt (1997); and son, Randall Steven Hohenfeldt (2014). She was the seventh of eight children, and the last of them to greet eternity.

Family and friends will be able to say their farewells to Mary on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, At Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, Missouri. Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest alongside Rodger in the Blue Springs Cemetery at S.W. Cemetery Road and S.W.
