Michael D. Henson Sr.

Michael Dale Henson Sr., 61, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Monday, December 21, 2020. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, at Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, MO 64029.

Mike was born September 16, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Dale and Anita (Broyles) Henson. He was an avid sports fan and coached his children’s softball and basketball teams for many years.  Mike played golf and tennis as often as he could, loved to be outdoors or riding his Harley on the weekends, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

He worked at Pro Electric for 38 years and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 124. Mike was intelligent, funny, creative and a very reliable family member and friend.  He was a very loving Dad, Grandpa, Son, Brother and Uncle.  We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created.

He is preceded in death by his father, Dale Henson; and an infant sister, Pamela Henson.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Henson) Bender (Eric) of Buckner, MO; son, Michael Dale Henson Jr. (Amber) of Grain Valley, MO; two grandchildren: Tucker Dale Henson and Paisley Lynn Henson; mother, Anita Henson; grandmother, Effie Henson; two sisters: Robin Gardner, Independence, MO and Renee Holley (David) of Lake Lotawana, MO; nieces: Kira Ward (Brad) and Mackenzy Holley; nephew, Quintin Gardner and many other relatives and friends.
