Michael G. Hanavan

Michael Gerald Hanavan, 42, of Independence, Mo passed away on August 1, 2020. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:00 PM on August 6, 2020 at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, with a brief service to follow at 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his son Michael’s college fund in care of Barbara Hays.

He was born on June 28, 1978 to Michael (Mike) and Brenda Hanavan in Independence Mo. Mr. Hanavan was a 1997 graduate of Odessa High School in Odessa, Missouri and a graduate of Vatterott College in 2002. Mr. Hanavan was a master HVAC mechanic who enjoyed Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou games.

Preceding him in death includes his mother Brenda, and maternal and paternal grandparents. Surviving include his son Michael Thomas Hanavan (mother, Lori Ginnings), fiancé Rachel Clark, father Mike Hanavan, sister Barbara Hays (Ryan), two nieces- Alexandrea Hammond and Regan Hays, two nephews- Seth Hammond and Reece Hays, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
