Orville F. Jeffries

Orville Floyd “Shorty” Jeffries, 91, of Buckner, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Centerpoint Medical Center.  Services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 with visitation at 11:00 a.m. at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home in Independence, Missouri and a graveside service following at noon at Six Mile Cemetery, Sibley, Missouri.

Shorty was born on December 25, 1933 in Independence, Missouri, to Pearly and Ethel (Burton) Jeffries. He married his sweetheart, Sharon Todd, of Shreveport, LA on November 28, 1957.  They shared 67 wonderful years together.  Shorty retired from Universal Construction Company for nearly 3 decades.  Shorty enjoyed playing the electric guitar, hunting, fishing, traveling and playing craps. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 6 brothers. 

He leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon, of the home; 1 brother, Nelson, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends who will always love and cherish him.
