Rita M. Cartier
Rita Margaret Dubuc Cartier, born on April 1, 1930, peacefully passed away at age 87 on July 6, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the devoted wife of late husband Roland Joseph and cherished mother of 5 children: Christine French, Cynthia Dunne, David Cartier, Patricia Arnold, and Michelle Rauch. She is survived by her children, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was a dear sister to Richard Dubuc and late Simone Brikiatis. She was blessed in her later years with dearest friend and companion Leonard Lawton, who supported, comforted, uplifted, loved her and never left her side.
Rita, along with husband Roland, retired from West Islip, New York to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, then lastly to Kansas City, Missouri. She was extremely talented at sewing, crocheting, knitting, and loved ballroom dancing. Tennis became her passion and she was a proud member of several USTA Senior 3.0 teams. Rita was loved by many and brought a smile to everyone she met. She will be extremely missed.
A private family service was held on Monday, July 10th.
