Robert E. Bennett

Robert “Bob” Emerson Bennett, 85 of Independence, MO passed away April 27, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday May 6, 2022 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO.

Bob was very involved in BSA. He has a lifetime career at Union Pacific Railroad and retired in 1996. Bob enjoyed working in his yard and garden. He spent a lot of time in his workshop doing woodworking. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances; parents; sisters: Diane Wolf and Carolyn Riggs.

Bob is survived by his children: Susan Roth & husband Jeff of Kansas City, MO, Byron Bennett & wife Tami of Independence, MO, David Bennett & wife Joni of  Independence, MO, Kathleen Bennett of Independence, MO; grandchildren: Jackson Roth of Kansas City, MO, Ian Bennett & wife Charlotte of Merriam, KS, Spencer Barrett  & wife Katie  of Kansas City, MO, Nate Bennett of Merriam, KS, Jake Bennett of Independence, MO, Brett Bennett of Independence, MO, Taylor Howell & Meg Benson of Lee’s Summit, MO, Chelsea & Cody Hammer of Independence, MO, Jared Howell of Liberty, MO, Jade Clark, Hana Clark of Lake Lotawana, MO; great-grandchildren: Payton Case, Landon Bennett, Madisyn Hammer all of Independence, MO; special friend: Brenda Kirk; siblings: Frances & Roger Lewis of Texas, William Bennett of Sedalia, MO and many nieces and nephews.
