Shirley J. Henson

Shirley Jean Henson, 88, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Grain Valley, MO. A Celebration of Life will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, Grain Valley and/or Traditions Hospice.

Shirley was born November 5, 1935 in Buhl, Idaho to Carl and Fern (Heard) Schneider. She loved being a mom and a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, canning and cooking. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grain Valley where she loved to sing in the choir and play the piano. Shirley loved to tell everyone about Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jim Henson of the home; her 3 children: son, Ted Henson (Cheryl) of Grain Valley MO, daughter, Cindy Vanarsdall (Dennis) of Grain Valley, MO, and daughter, Cathy Kennon (Marvin) of Grain Valley, MO; eight grandchildren: Cory, Trevor, Katie (Garrin), Kelcy (Cody), Amy, Lauren, Brandon and Nicholas; six great-grandchildren: Braylon, Blaire, Brynn, Finley, Fallon and Flora Lynn; brother, Charles Schneider (Joyce) of Lebanon, MO, brother, David Schneider of Lebanon, MO; sister, Beverly Schneider of Lebanon, MO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
