
Steve Barber Jr.
Steve Barber JR. passed away at his home in Grain Valley, Missouri. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 1960 Steve moved with his family to Warrensburg, Missouri. He attended Warrensburg High School and graduated in 1967. In 1978, Steve moved to Blue Springs, Missouri and began a career with The Kansas City Southern Railroad. He was a kind, compassionate and patient man. Steve had a sense of humor that is best described as, “wicked!” He was a beloved Father and Grandfather, As well as an Uncle and Great Uncle. Steve loved each of his nieces and nephews as fiercely as he loved his own children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and he was particularly fond of Florida, Steve loved Animals, especially Bassett Hounds. He enjoyed gardening and all things food. His motto was “dessert first!” Steve enjoyed having big dinners and being surrounded with his family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his son, Stephen Barber III; his father, Steve Barber SR; and mother Katherine Barber.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Amanda Kay Lewis (Barber); son in law, Joshua Lewis; grandsons, Roman Lewis and Vincent Lewis; His friend, Vernon Vette; brothers, Anthony Barber (Karen), Ross Barber (Joanie) and sister Vita Rose Berg.
In lieu of flowers, please consider gifts to Steve’s beloved Grandsons, Roman and Vincent Lewis college funds. Missouri 529 Plans have been established for each grandson.

In 2020, Steve’s grandson Roman was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes.
