Teresa G. Mountjoy

Teresa Gale Mountjoy, age 71, passed away in her home after several months of battling cancer on March 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 17, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Bill and Clarabelle German.

Teresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love. Teresa had a passion for travel, and she shared her joy for life with everyone she met.

Teresa is survived by her beloved husband, Gary Mountjoy; her children, Bruce Thompson (wife Andrea Thompson) and Tommy Brandes (wife Shereen Brandes), Scott Mountjoy (wife Rebecca Mountjoy) and Todd Mountjoy; her grandchildren, Brian Thompson, Hunter and Noah Brandes, Isabella Mountjoy, Brittany and Emily Mountjoy; her siblings, Diane Bruce and Pam German, who both survive her; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, March 22, at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by the celebration of life at 1:00 PM.  Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to KU Cancer center in memory of Teresa.

Teresa will be deeply missed by friends and family, but her legacy of love and generosity will live on in our hearts forever.
