Virginia M. Quick

Virginia Mae Quick, 89, of Oak Grove, MO passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 12, at the Colbern Road Restoration Branch, 9525 Main Entrance Drive, Lake Lotawana, MO. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 11, at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove.

Virginia was born on May 2, 1921 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Jesse & Alene (Ruppert) Friend. She married John Melvin Quick on November 25, 1937 and he preceded in death on January 5, 1981. Virginia was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Her survivors include four sons: Melvin E. Quick & wife Zanie Lou of Odessa, J. David Quick & wife Janice of Rich Hill, Gary L. Quick & wife Song of Lee’s Summit, and Donald W. Quick & wife Dena of Higginsville’ three daughters: Eleanor Smith of North Pole, Alaska, Jeanette Thomas & husband George of Oak Grove, and Jeanie March & husband Bill of Oak Grove; one sister: Mary Hamblin of Independence; 32 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren and numerous cousins & other family members.
