William “Bill” Lunceford

William “Bill” Lunceford, 87, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away at KC Hospice House on Monday, December 8, 2025. Bill was born on March 5,1938 to Leonard Lunceford and Iona (Williamson) Lunceford. Bill married Saundra Kay Scott on January 2, 1959.

Bill worked in construction and was a master cabinet builder for many years. He worked for General Motors Assembly Plant at Leads and retired after 22 years as a member of UAW Local 93.  After retirement, Bill worked as a bus driver for the Oak Grove School District for many years.

Bill was an active member of Paradise Outfitter Ministries. He was a charter member of Friends of Missouri Town and was very involved with the Osage Spinners and Weavers Guild, participating in living history events, creating traditional tools for fiber processing and demonstrating pioneer-era rug weaving.  He was a lifelong harmonica player.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, TJ Lunceford.

Bill leaves behind his wife Saundra Kay (Scott) Lunceford, sister-in-law Tanya Harris of Columbia, MO; one daughter, Robin Poese (Brian) of Chilhowee, MO; four sons; Scott of Buckner, MO; Tim (Angela) and Chris (Penny Avery) of Independence, MO; and Rick (Kim) of Oak Grove; ten grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Bill will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery in Buckner, MO.  The family will hold a celebration of life in the spring; at a date to be determined later.
