William J. Embree

William Joe Embree, 75, of Oak Grove, MO, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Village Hospice House in Lee’s Summit, MO.  Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday August 12, 2013 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO.  Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

William was born July 6, 1938 in Knob Noster, MO to Robert & Dora (Vogler) Embree.  He married Katheryn Lockard on May 28, 1960. William work for the Ford Motor Co on the Ford Truck line. William enjoyed golf, bowling, yard care, wood-working and was an expert at auto detailing. He was a member of the Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs Elks Lodge and the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

William was preceded in death by his parents: Robert & Dora Embree and 2 sisters.

William is survived by his wife Katheryn of the home; son: Rodney Dean Embree & wife Dawn of Oak Grove, MO; 2 grandsons: Anthony Embree of Oak Grove, MO, Casey Embree & wife Rhiannon of Grain Valley, MO; 4 great-grandchildren: Jackson, Brooke, Abby, Paisley; 2 brothers: Gerald Embree of Independence, MO, Johnny Embree of Leeton, MO 1 sister: Leota Booth of Independence, MO.
